'The Letter' is written by Dhumakethu
It is the story of an Old man named Ali
who is eagerly waiting for a letter from his daughter Miriam who went away from him after her marriage
In the story Ali used to go to the post office everyday to receive a letter which he never gets
And the post officers always used to make fun of Ali by calling out his name
Ali was a clever shikari in the past and was really passionate for hunting and it is said that Ali's current suffering is due to a result of his hunting,where he must have filled blood in a sacred place
Ali being so old was affected with health problem and one day he argued with the Post master and when he went out of the office he gave 5 gold coins to a post officer and asked him to give the letter of Miriam at my grave after my death
After some month
The Post master's daughter got sick and he was eager to get a letter from his daughter at that time he realized the pain of Ali
The Post master received a letter which was for Ali and he said himself he that he would give it Ali by himself
At the morning the P.Master heard a knock at the door and he opened expecting it to be Ali .
He opened the door and saw Ali but his eyes was shining bright and the Post master got scared and suddenly Ali dissappear
Later at the morning the Post master came to know that Ali was dead some month ago
The Post master got confused
The newly approaching father's heart in him was regretting him for not understanding Ali
And he had to spend a night of restless
Tortured by Doubt and Remorse
