For given rectangle,
With respect to the attached image
Length = l = CD =8 m
Breadth = b = AC = 6 m
Now, when you draw a diagonal (AD), a right angled triangle , ∆ACD is formed.
So, by Pythagoras Theorem,
AD² = AC² + CD²
So, AD² = 6² + 8²
So, AD² = 36 + 64
So, AD² = 100
So, AD² = 10²
So, AD = 10 m
Thus, length of diagonal is 10 meters.
