In a nutshell, dignity of labour refers to the sense of self-worth and accomplishment that one feels as a result of one's work.
It is felt when a person is treated equally at work and feels useful to both their organization and society at large. The idea that all jobs should be treated equally, that no profession is superior, and that no work should be subject to any sort of discrimination is known as the dignity of labor. All forms of labor (jobs) are necessary in a community.
To categories any endeavor as excellent or abhorrent is entirely false. Work in and of itself is a form of dignity. Mahatma Gandhi, known as the Father of the Nation, used to handle all of the household chores by himself, including cleaning the bathrooms.
Every profession, regardless of whether it involves physical or mental labor, is thought to be deserving of respect. Simply said, respecting any kind of work (manual or intellectual) is referred to as "dignity of labour," and any kind of work—manual or intellectual—is referred to as "labour."
