Better to stay in the open or in the water during an earthquake?

Go outdoor, so it minimize the risk that your body be strucked down by any building. Go away from any river, when earthquake happened, the river tends to overflow. If the earthquake is followed by tsunami, you must go to a high and strong foundation place.

Heya....

Normally we hear that during an earth quake it is safe to run outside or in water....

Because....

* If we r outside then the power lines, trees , roof , walls, and so on things r falling and in open we will be safe from the hit by them....because in open they will fall on side to side not in middle due to gravitational force...

* And in water we will also safe because here is no dangerous of shock of thunder by earthquake in water due to density of water....
