you take 2 as a and 1 as b

you make a number line where points-:2.1 , 2.2 , etc. are there.

then u make another number line between 2.1 and 2.2

we see that 2.11 and 2.12 and 1.13 are the numbers present.

2.12 can be written in the form 212/100 where both the numbers are in the p/q form and are rational and q is not equal to 0.
