1. Concave lens : A concave lens is thinner in the middle and thicker at the edges . uses in glasses , spy holes in the door etc. It have negative focal length . It diverges the incidence Rays away from the princepal axis. The image formed is an upright ,virtual and smaller size then the object . The positive of the image formed is in between the lens and the object regardless of the object's position.
- 2. Convex lens: A convex lens is thicker in the middle and thinner at the edges. uses in camera, focus sunlight, etc. It have positive focal length. It converge the incident Rays toward the princepal axis. The image of is inverted ,real and smaller than the object when the object is placed at focus. The image formed is the inverted, real and smaller size as the object when object is placed at 2F . The image formed is interval , real and larger than the object when the object is placed between 2F and F . No image is formed when the object is placed at the focus (F). The image formed is the upright , virtual ,and the larger than the object when the object is placed of the same side of the lens.
