Moderates and Radicals differed in their ideologies:
a. While the moderates believed that they could achieve their objectives under the guidance of the British rule .Radicals like Bipin Chandra pal, Bal gangadhar Tilak believed in agitation, swadeshi and boycott methods and declared Swaraj as their ultimate goal.
b. Moderates believed in constitutional methods like holding meetings, passing resolutions in getting their demands fulfilled. Radicals emphasised the importance of self reliance and constructive work. They wanted to prepare the indians for any sacrifice to get freedom.
c. Moderates believed in giving a passive role to the masses. Radicals believed in direct participation of the people.
