distance is the actual length of the path between two points which would be comp zigzag or straight line displacement is which is the shortest possible distance between two points does displacement can never be more than distance if actual path Travels between two points is a straight line then distance is equal to displacement

Displacement is always less than or equal to the distance traveled, so it cannot be greater than the distance. ... If a particle is moving in a straight line in one direction then the magnitude of displacement vector will be equal to the scalar distance.
