between two given positions,distace travelled can never be less than displacement.why?

Because between two points displacement can be negative or 0 but, distance is always positive.

And we know that,
Displacement is the shortest route of distance. Distance can be linear, circular or wave. Displacement is always straight line as it is a vector.
