Beveling provides a gradual transition between the composite resin restoration and the tooth. Bevels of 45 degrees and 1 to 2 mm wide are used in facial areas, whereas a smaller (0.5-mm) bevel is used in other areas. ... It is always desirable to terminate the restoration on enamel rather than cementum or dentin.
