The benefits are more. It gives power to people, it gives freedom to live, promotes equality, supports the voice of mass and there are scope of overall improvement of the community.

However, there can be some disadvantages unless it is controlled. These are chance of corruption, the exploitation of vote power for personal use, controversy in selected leaders, and the risk of hype of majority.
