Sum of adjacent angles of an parallelogram is 180°.

Angle A and C are adjacent to each other so they are supplementary.

x + 40° + 3x - 20° = 180°

4x + 20° = 180°

4x = 180° - 20°

4x = 160°

x = 40°

Angle B = y + 15°

Angle A and B are opposite angles, Hence they are equal.

y + 15° = 3(40°) - 20°

y + 15° = 120° - 20°

y + 15° = 100°

y = 85°

x = 40°
