It was a movement started by Mahatma Gandhi "August"1942 , on 8th August,by the All Indian National Congress Committee session on Bombay.
This movement was commonly called "Quit India Movement ".It started during World War 2.It was a civil disobedience movement to gain Independence from British rule.This movement was a call for the British to free up India.The next day Gandhi,Nehru,and many other National Congress we're arrested by the British
