let the cost of 1 litre milk be $x
let the cost of 1 loaf of bread be $y
1st equation=>
3x + 5y = 11
=> 12x + 20y = 44 [ on multiplying both sides by 4 ]
2nd equation =>
4x + 4y = 10
=> 12x + 12y = 30 [ on multiplying both sides by 3 ]
Subtracting 2nd equation from 1st equation we get,
8y = 14
=> y = 14/8 = 7/4
and x = 3/4
Therefore 1 litre of milk costs $ 3/4 and 1 loaf of bread costs $ 7/4..
