Bile juice contains no digestive enzymes, yet it is important for digestion because Bile juice has bile pigments such as bilirubin and biliverdin. These break down large fat globules into smaller globules so that the pancreatic enzymes can easily act on them. This process is known as emulsification of fats.

Explanation:

Bile juice is secreted from the liver into the duodenum. It does not contain any digestive enzymes. However it plays an important role in digestion due to the following reasons-

1. It helps in neutralising food from the stomach - Partially digested food from the stomach is acidic (due to HCl) and bile, being basic in nature, neutralises it.

2. It helps in emulsification of fats (it breaks large fat droplets into smaller ones)

3. It activates lipases which help in fat digestion.

4. It stimulates peristalsis.

Thus bile plays an important role in digestion.
