The bile juice secreted by the liver does not contain any digestive enzymes, however, it plays an important role in the digestion of fats. It contains bile salts such as bilirubin and biliverdin which break down large fat globules into smaller globules. This makes sure that the pancreatic enzymes can easily act on the fat globules.
