Bill’s car gets 30 miles to the gallon. For every gallon of gas it consumes, his car runs 30 miles. Use this information to determine whether this relation is a function. Write the equation for the number of miles Bill travels, y, in terms of how much gas it uses, x.

Answer:

This relation is a function of y=30x

For every ax or 1 gallon, its goes 30 miles

Its y=30x, x is every gallon of gas and y is how much it run.

I hope this will help you!!!! ✌️✌️✌️

Answer:

gallons of gas were required to drive 304 highway miles. You may have known to divide the total miles by the miles per gallon. For example, in the case of the Honda Civic,  gallons.

One way to be sure the problem is set up correctly is to use the units of measurement. In Problem 2, you are determining the number of gallons. Set up the calculation so that miles will divide out and the remaining measurement unit will be gallons.

Miles per gallon (mpg) is an example of a rate. Mathematically, a rate is a comparison of two quantities that have different units of measurement. Numerically, you calculate with rates as you would with ratios. Paying attention to what happens to the units of measurement during the calculation is critical to determining the unit of the result. This process is called unit analysis.

Definition

A rate is a comparison, expressed as a quotient, of two quantities that have different units of measurement.

Unit analysis (sometimes called dimensional analysis) uses units of measurement as a guide in setting up a calculation involving one or more rates. When the calculation is set up properly, the result is an answer with the appropriate units of measurement.
