We know

Molarity = moles / volume

So

Moles = Molarity × volume = 0.25 M × 2.5 L

 =  \frac{1}{4}  \times  \frac{5}{2} =  \frac{5}{8}   \:  \: moles

Now methanol (CH3OH) Molecular weight is 32 gm .

So weight of 5/8 moles = 5/8 × 40 = 25 gm

Now volume = weight / density

 \frac{ \frac{25}{1000}kg }{0.793kg} l =  \frac{25 \times 1000}{793} ml \approx \frac{25 \times 1000}{800}  = 31.25 \: ml
