☆ Biodegradable substances, on burning, release harmful gases like Methane, CO2, etc.

☆ Smell is awful and people find it disgusting.

☆ Biodegradable wastes, if spread and dumped in open, may act as breeding places for mosquitos, flies and other vectors.

☆ They spread diseases and may contaminate environment to an extent.

☆ They may cause pollution, if not properly disposed off.

HOPE IT HELPS! ^_^

Like non-biodegradable substances, the biodegradable substances also pollutes the environment in the following ways:

  1. Biodegradable substances when decompose, they release methane gas, which is harmful for the environment.
  2. Although these wastes are broken down, they transform into another compound, usually organic carbon, which subsequently converts into carbon dioxide and water, which is again polluting environment.
  3. They produces foul smell when decomposed.
