Shakuntala Devi was an Indian writer and mental calculator, popularly known as the "human computer". Her talent earned her a place in the 1982 edition of The Guinness Book of World Records. Shakuntala Devi wrote a number of books in her later years, including novels as well as texts about mathematics, puzzles, and astrology.
She wrote the book The World of Homosexuals, which is considered the first study of homosexuality in India. She treated homosexuality in a positive light and is considered a pioneer in the field.
Shakuntala Devi was dubbed "human computer" for her swift numerical calculation abilities. - Shakuntala Devi was discovered to be a born genius by her father when he was showing her some card tricks. - She had a phenomenal memory and could calculate any equation and reel off amazing numbers in a flash.

Shakuntala Devi was born on November 4, 1929, in Bangalore, Karnataka. His father joined a circus instead of becoming a priest in the temple and worked as a trapeze artist, lion tamer, tightrope walker, and magician. When Shakuntala was 3 years old, he discovered her ability to memorize the numbers while teaching her a card trick.
