The biological principles in adding a janitor fish in an aquarium with goldfish. Janitor fishes are usually a tropical type. And one should not mix cold water fish like Goldfish with tropical water fish (Janitor).

EXPLANATION:

It is advised that we cannot combine a janitor fish and goldfish in a same aquarium. This is because, Janitor fishes are usually a tropical type. And one should not mix cold water fish like Goldfish with tropical water fish (Janitor). Also both excrete a lot.

Their excreted feces contain various chemical compositions of nitrite and ammonium. If they are too much exposed in such concentration, then to the worse they might kill each other. So it is better to grow them separately.
