Answer: The picture is depicting an amoeba engulfing its food.

Explanation:

(a) Endocytosis is the process shown in the diagram. Amoeba engulfs its food by the process of endocytosis.

(b) The organism in the diagran is amoeba.

(c) The nature of the cell membrane, here, is flexible.

- Since amoeba has no mouth, it takes the food into it's body by the means of pseudopodia.

- The cell membrane covers the food particle in the form of extensions known as pseudopodia.

- The food particle gets completely trapped inside the pseudopodia, forming a vacuole which gets engulfed.

- The vacuole then secretes some digestive enzymes which act upon the food particle and the food gets digested.

(d) Difference between cell wall and cell membrane

- Cell wall is thick and rigid whereas cell membrane is thin and delicate.

- Cell wall is present only in plant cells while cell membrane is present in all cells.

- The former protects the cell externally while the latter one protects internally.
