Parasitic Nutrition: This mode of nutrition is the characteristic of parasites. The parasites live on of inside the body of their hosts. So, the parasites are dependent either wholly of partially on the host for nutrition e.g., plasmodium, liver flukes, Cuscuta, Ascaris etc. There are two types of parasitic plants.

Saprophytic nutrition: In this mode of nutrition, the organisms feed on the dead decaying organic matter. Organisms like fungi(yeasts, moulds, mushrooms) and many bacteria take dissolved decaying organic materials from their environment. The organism releases some enzymes to digest the dead organic food and then the nutrients are absorbed through the body surface.

• The most fascinating example is found in plant-animal relationships. Plants need the help of animals for pollinating their flowers and dispersing their seeds. Animals are paid in the form of juicy and nutritious fruits.

Autotrophic nutrition is a process in which the organism produces their food from the simple inorganic materials such as water, carbon dioxide and mineral salts in the presence of sunlight.
