The answer is as follows;

Washed leaf - Presence of 2-3 dust particles.

Unwashed leaf - Presence of more than 50 dust particles.

EXPLANATION

  • The experiment is conducted to study suspended particles in the air
  • The one leaf that was washed with running water and then fixed with glycerine showed less particulate matter
  • The unwashed leaf one observed under the microscope showed air pollutants such as dust, carbon particles, pollen grains, spores etc.
  • Reason for washing one leaf- To remove the dust particles
  • The suspended particulate matter (SPM) are finely divided solid and liquid particles that are dispersed through air through processes such as combustion(Burning of wood,coal etc) industrial or natural activities, road traffic and dust from construction.
  • Presence of such particles in air can cause diseases such as heart disease, lung cancer, asthma etc.
