In cockroach, blood flows through ostia from heart.

Explanation:

In cockroach, the flow of blood takes place in as follows:-

The flow chart of blood flow is as follows :-

  • Flow of blood is known as hemolymph

     heart → head→ perivisceral sinus → pericardial sinus → ostia → heart.

  • Heart present in a cockroach is neurogenic.
  • Body cavity is known as Haemocoel. This  Haemocoel is a perivisceral cavity which is filled with colourless blood
  • This colourless blood is called haemolymph.
  • In heart the alary muscle will contract the dorsal diaphragm ad  became flat and pericardial functions to increases.
  • Blood moving from the perivisceral sinus will enter into pericardial sinus through a pore of dorsal diaphragm .
  • It is Dome-shaped where the blood from pericardial sinus is forced into the heart.
  • Thus blood travels from  valvular ostia and wish that the then the heart and aorta contract peristaltically.
