Dr.Sarvapalli radhakrishnan was the first vice president and second president of India.
He was a well known diplomat, scholar but moreover a teacher. He was born on September 5, 1888 in Tirutani. He didn't had a good political background. He did B.A. and M.A. in philosophy. After which he joined as an assistant lecturer in Madras Presidency College in 1909. He taught there about Hindu philosophy. Seeing his dedication and passion, he was then called for as a professor in universities like in calcutta. He also honoured by visiting the Oxford University and enlightening them about Hindu philosophy. He was a great honour to our Indian philosophy and also wrote books on it. He was awarded with the highest civilian award, bharat ratna award. He then became the first vice president of India later also as the second president too. His great honour and passion for teaching made him a great teacher. And that's why we celebrate his birthday as teacher's day in India.
