Bishop brought a change in the life of convict?Explain

1. The poor condition of the convict had compelled him to steal food for his sick wife. He was imprisoned for ten years for this crime.

2. The Bishop was a kind-hearted person. When he finds out that the convict has fled with his silver candlesticks he gets upset because they were the last memory of his dead mother. However, propelled by his kindness, he kneels down and prays for the well-being of the convict and hopes that the candlesticks prove useful to him.

3. The convict gets arrested for stealing the Bishop's silver candlesticks. But, the Bishop saves him by telling a lie that the convict is his friend, and he himself had given him those candlesticks as a gift.This act of the Bishop touches the heart of the convict greatly. He feels great remorse.  The Bishop's kindness transforms the convict totally, making him a man again from a beast.

When the police interrogate the bishop and convict, bishop said that convict was his friend and gave the candlesticks to him.Bishop completely changed convict's life and gave him a chance to get a new start in his life.
