Bismillah Khan was a true Indian as he didn't leave India even when his student was urging him to start a shehnai school in U.S. He said his student to bring river Ganga over there and then he would start the school. This show so much affection of him toward his village.

Moreover when asked during an interview why he didn't leave India and go to Pakistan during partition he replied that he couldn't leave Benaras. That shows that he loved his motherland and was a true Indian.
