Bismillah Khan was a country lover he used to love his country especially Banaras and river Ganga the most.He always wanted the fellow citizens of his country to flourish indian culture.There are more incidents in the story which shows his love for the nation

First when he was requested by one of the students in USA to stay there and teach Sehnai and also promised to build temple there but he refused the offer by saying that river Ganga could not be brought.

Secondly it was then when he was asked by Shekhar Gupta during India Pakistan partition why he didn't go to Pakistan he said that he would never leave India and ofcourse Benaras
