Alum is an astringent.It is also an antiseptic.It acts as a catalyst for tissues to contract faster and constricts the blood vessels.

he chemical formula of alum is K2SO4. Al2 (SO4)3. 24 H2O

Blood contains negatively charged particles. On the other hand, alum contains positively charged particles Al3+.

On applying alum on fresh wound, coagulation of negatively charged particles with Al3+ ions takes place and bleeding stops.

The chapter trigonometry in RS Aggarwal book (of class 11th) is divided into 6 sub-chapters. But its chapter 5 ( Solution of triangles ) and 6 ( Graphs of trigonometric functions ) are not the topics of NCERT Book. Now my question is: Should I study these two chapters (5 &6 of RS Aggarwal) as these are not in NCERT Book?
