Answer:

The data showed that the very earliest megaliths come from north-western France, including the Carnac stones, a dense collection of rows of standing stones, mounds, and covered stone tombs - dolmens (below). These date to about 4700 B.C.E., when the region was inhabited by hunter-gatherers.

1) As per the Puranas and coins, they were described by different names such as Sātavāhanas, Sātakarnīs, and Andhrabhrityas. In the Deccan part of the Indian subcontinent, Satavahana followed the Mauryas. Their empire was built on the remains of the Maurya Empire and became the most powerful empire of that time.

2) What are the main sources of information about them? i) The three great empires of south India were the Cholas, the Pandyas and the Cheras. ii) Sangam literature is the main source of information about this period.

3) The pottery of the megalith period describes structures made of large stones without the use of mortar or material, signifying periods of prehistory which were considered by such constructions.

4) The Chola Empire stretched from the island of Sri Lanka in the south to the Godavari-Krishna river basin in the north, up to the Konkan coast in Bhatkal, the entire Malabar Coast in addition to Lakshadweep, Maldives, and vast areas of Chera country.

5) Antarctica is found in the South Frigid Zone. The earth is divided into five distinct zones based on their climatic conditions, known as geographical zones. These zones are the North Frigid Zone, the North Temperate Zone, the Tropics, the South Frigid Zone, and the South Temperate Zone.
