Answer:

gvn, F=t

F=change in momentum / time

change in momentum=mv-mu

u=V°

v=0

so, p=mv°-0

i. e p=mv°

F=mv°/t

t=mv°/t

t^2=mv°

t=root(mv°)

The block will stop after (mv₀/F) seconds.

  • The force exerted on an object is the cause that changes or tends to change its state of rest or motion. It is given by the following formula.

        F = m * a

  • Here, F is the force exerted, m is the mass and a is the acceleration of the object.
  • The acceleration of an object is the change in its velocity with respect to time. This can be represented by the following formula.

        a = \frac{v_{0}}{t}

  • On substituting the acceleration as (v/t) in the force formula, we get

       F = m * \frac{v_{0}}{t}

  • On rearranging the formula, the time can be written as,

        t = \frac{mv_{0}}{F}
