3 main types of blood cells are RBC, WBC & Platelets... Then there are 3 main types of WBC, Lymphocytes, Monocytes & Granulocytes... Then 3main types of Granulocytes are Neutrophils, Eosinophils & Basophils... WBC are for maintaining our Immune System & fight diseases, whereas RBC carry oxygenated blood & remove Carbon dioxide... Platelets prevent bleeding (or blood loss, by creating a network on the injury)

Blood contains various suspended corpuscles. The colorless corpuscles are called as white blood corpuscles or leucocytes. They are classified as:
Monocytes – It is involved in removal as well as attack of dead cells and microorganism.
Lymphocytes- It is involved in antibody production.
Eosinophils – They protect the body from parasitic infection.
Basophils – It is involved in secretion of histamine and heparin chemicals which acts as major chemicals for body’s defense mechanism.
Neutrophils – Involved in defending against the bacterial and fungal infection.
