Blood is considered to be connective tissue for the following reasons:

The embryological constituency of blood has the same origin as that of any other connective tissue types. Blood has three components of the connective tissue – fibres, matrix and cell.

Blood networks throughout the body hence brings in the required oxygen, hormones, nutrients and other related signalling molecules. It also eliminates wastes.

There are two different types of cells in circulating blood. They are enucleated erythrocytes or red blood cells and white blood cells or nucleated leukocytes.
