Each molecule haemoglobin can hold four oxygen molecule . It is haemoglobin that carries the oxygen as it is transported around the body in the blood. only a small amount of oxygen ( 1.5 % in arterial blood) is simply dissolved in the plasma . Haemoglobin is the main component in the oxygen transport throughout in body .
