this is because when copper sulphate and aluminium powder react...aluminium displaces copper from its sulphate..and forms aluminium sulphate which is colorless..therefore when aluminium powder is added to a blue colored copper sulphate, the solution turns colourless...

.......hope this helps:)

QUESTION --- blue colour of copper sulphate solution disappear when some aluminium powder is added on it

ANSWER
_____________________________

Copper Sulphate (CuSO4) solution is blue in colour. When Aluminium is added to it, A Displacement reaction takes place. Aluminium is more reactive than copper hence, It displaces Copper from its sulphate Solution in order to form Aluminum Sulphate. The Aluminum Sulphate solution hence formed is colouless. That is why the Blue colour of Copper sulphate disappears and the solution becomes Colourless.

REACTION INVOLVED :

Al + CuSO4 ========>> Al2(SO4)3 + Cu
