Correct Question :- In a triangle PQR, EF || QR . If PE = 4 cm, PF = 8 cm and RF = 9 cm . Then find the value of QE ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • According to BPT theorem when a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points then the other two sides are divided in the same ratio .

since EF || QR .

so,

→ PE/EQ = PF/FR { By BPT theorem. }

putting values we get,

→ 4/EQ = 8/9

→ EQ = (9 * 4)/8

→ EQ = QE = 4.5 cm .

therefore, value of QE is equal to 4.5 cm .
