Bob runs around a square park of side 80 m three times. Tom runs twice around a rectangular park with length 150 m and breadth 40 m . Who covers more distance and by how much? *

4 × 75

= 300

he makes three rounds

= 300 × 3

= 900 m

Tom runs around rectangular park l = 100m b = 60m

distance covered in one round

= 2(l + b)

= 2(100 + 60)

= 2 × 160

= 320 m

he makes 2 rounds

= 2 × 320

= 640 m

900 - 640 = 260 m
