Bob wants to cover the floor of a room 3 m wide and 4 m longby squared tiles. If each square tile is of side 0.5 m, then find the number of tiles required to cover the floor of the room. =12/0.25= 48 tiles.

Area of floor = 3 x 4 = 12 m square

Side of square tile = 0.5 m

area of square tile = side x side

= 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25 m

Tiles required = 12 ÷ 0.25

= 48

therfore , 48 tiles are required.
