Bodies A, B, C, D have densities 500 kg/m3, 1300 kg/m3, 0.85 g/cc, 2500 kg/m3 respectively. Which of them will float or sink in water with RD= 1?

If the temperature of water is 4°C then the density of water is 1000kg/m^3.

Therefore bodies A, and will float on top of water as they have less density than water.

Explanation:

Density of water in CGS = 1 g/cc

Density of

A = 500kg/ m3

B = 1300kg / m3

C = 0.85 g/ cc

D = 2500kg / m3

So Now we have to change all density in CGS unit by dividing with 1000. because the density of is in CGS so we have to change all the density into CGS .

A= 0.5 g/cc

B= 1.3 g/cc

C= 0.85 g/cc

D = 2.5 g/cc

so now we can compare , if the density is less than one so it will float on water and if the density is more than one it will sink in water because the density of water is 1 g /CC

A float on water

B sink in water

C float on water

D sink in water

Hope it will help you
