Given are the data a body hangs from spring balance reads 240 N which is in motion of an acceleration of 2\frac { m }{ s^{ 2 } } downwards, therefore for the true weight of the weight known as the mass of the body, spring balance reads as Normal reaction  = mass of body \times downward acceleration, therefore, putting the values we get – Force experienced downwards equals the Normal reaction therefore, 240 = mass\quad of\quad body\times 2

\Rightarrow mass of body = 120 kg.
