Boiling water and stream at100c having same temperature but stream causes more severe burns why?

This is because water at 100°C has more latent heat than boiling water.When steam falls on our hand it condenses to form water in the form of water vapour by taking latent heat from our hand.On the other hand water at 100℃ does not require any such latent heat .

steam at 100℃gives out latent heat.It does not take latent heat from our hand.I t gives out latent heat which is why steam causes more severe burns
