In 1909 Danish chemist sourenson used a new symbol PH to represent the concentration of H+ ion. In this symbol p is kept small nd H is capital. P means power nd H means hydrogen.

Negative logarithm of concentration of hydrogen ion [H+] is an aqueous solution is called pH
pH = - log [H+]

1.pH do not have any unit. It is dimensionless quantity.
2. The solution which have 0-2 pH value are strong acid nd those have 14-12 pH value are strong Base

I hope it helps you

HEY DEAR , HERE IS YOUR ANSWER.❤❤✌✌

pH scale :- Sometimes pH scale is alternatively called as the pH acid - base scale and sometimes just the acid - base scale .

Definition - A pH scale helps to determine a solution is a Basic or Acidic in nature.

ACIDIC solutions are those with pH less than 7, while BASIC solutions have pH greater than 7.

A solution is:

1. acidic when there are more H+ ions than OH- ions present

2. basic when there are more OH- ions than H+ ions present

3.neutral when there are equal number of H+ and OH- ions present

In neutral solutions, - those that are neither acidic nor basic, pH = 7.0 .
