The following diagram is of a torch or flashlight.

  • The circuit connects with a battery and to a bulb with a switch.
  • The battery is placed in a '+' or '-' position which allows electricity to pass through. The switch when on allows the current to pass since it connects the circuit. When the switch is off, it creates a gap between the circuit due to which no current can be passed.
  • The light glows in the bulb only when the circuit is on which s=means when the switch is turned on.
  • To identify the right circuit connection we need to draw a line between the batteries and bulb along with a switch that connects to both ends.
