Boojho is confused if pitcher plant is green and carries out photosynthesis then why does it feed on insects?

Pitcher plant grows in soil which is deficient in nitrogen...... suit fulfill its nitrogen requirements it feeds on insects
is this question of class 7th NCERT book?
