As cotton is a natural fibre...it will burn very quickly. It is made up of about 90% cellulose, which when burnt gives an odour of burning leaves...

It will burn in light coloured(whitish-yellow) flame and will catch fire in no time.

Hope this helps you.

The cotton fibre is burnt in the laboratory with the instructions given to the students as per the procedures.

They will not shrink or melt off when they will burn.

Also, the odour will be the same as the burning paper smell. This is the major concept of the clear off in terms of fibre.
