Anne got a blank diary on her 13th birthday on Jun 12th 1942 from her father, and she started writing the diary from June 14th 1942. On July 5th, same year her sister Margot got a summon to report to a Nazi camp and next day they went into hiding. Anne went into hiding with her family along with Van Daan family; during world war, to evade Nazi persecution. The hiding place is Secret Annex in Amsterdam. Anne got a blank diary on her 13th birthday on Jun 12th 1942 from her father, and she started writing the diary from June 14th 1942. There are total of eight members in the Secret Annex, and there are Anne’s father Otto, mother Edith, Anne’s elder sister Margot., Mr and Mrs Van Daan, their teenage son Peter and an elderly dentist named Albert Dussel, who joined them later. All remained here for more than two years.

They were captured and deported to Nazi camp in August 1944. Out of the eight people, only Otto Frank survived, and Anne died due to typhus. The date of Anne death is unknown, but it is believed to be early 1945. The diary of a young girl is the literary work that was first published in the year 1947, which English version was later published in the year 1952. It received attention as well as widespread criticism. The book also included in many lists of top books published in 20th century.
