Guliver's travel is an adventure story involving several voyages of Lemuel Gulliver,a ship's surgeon, who, because of series of mishaps en route to recognize ports, ends up instead,on several unknown islands living with people & animals of unusual sizes, behaviors & philosophies, but who, after each adventure, ,is somehow able to return to his home in England where he recovers from these unusual experiences & then sets out again on a new voyage. When the ship Gulliver is travelling on is destroyed in a storm,Gulliver ends up on the island of Lilliput, where he awakes to find that he has been captured by Lilliputians, very small people approximately 6 inches in height.

Gulliver is an educated and trained surgeon. He tells the readers about his traveling experience at sea which is divided into four parts.

The first part is situated in Lilliput where he encounters with people who are very little in size. The second one is on peninsula land of Brobdingnag it is an opposite world where everyone is giant than him.

The third part is on the land of Laputa, which is floating island and finally, in the fourth part he ends up in an unknown land and the residents there are known as Houyhnhnms.

This book has always been a very controversial book since its publication in 1726 and since then it had a lot of modifications made to them.

The novel is arguably Swift's greatest attempt to "shame men out of their vices" and the topics like politics, religion, morality etc are the heart of the novel. The author demonstrates the truth that how the truth about people and objects is heavily influenced by the perception of people.
