Borax gets converted to Boric acid when it is acidified.

Borax ( Na₂B₄O₇•10H₂O), also known as sodium borate is the salt of boric acid. When Borax is acidified in the presence of an acid like Hydrochloric acid (HCl), it forms boric acid which is a weak monobasic acid.

The balanced equation is given here - 

Na₂B₄O₇•10H₂O + 2HCl → 4H₃BO₃ + 2NaCl + 5H₂O
