is a lewis acid because the boron element is elctron deficent which wiil mafe it accept electron which is the the characterstic of lewis acid

but according to bronsted lowry theory a cid is something which has to release h+ which is not possible in the case of boric acid

it is A weak monobasic acid but act as a Lewis acid by accepting elctron from hydroxyl ion..
